Running the practice, day to day.

A person is not a chart.

Real product. Demo data.
Most therapy software models everyone as a client. Therapist Genie® separates the person from the chart, so one person can be a client, a supervisee, a consultee, a group member or a contact without the record getting confused.
- Individual, couple, family and multi-person charts. A person can hold several charts, and a chart can carry several clinicians.
- Sharing can be bounded by date, so a therapist who joins in January doesn’t gain access to the preceding three years.
- Every chart has a care team, and consents are signed by the right individual, not whoever the system treats as primary.
Outlook is the calendar.

Real product. Demo data.
Availability, locations, blocked time and personal commitments live in one Outlook calendar, and the practice schedules into the gaps. There is no second calendar to reconcile.
- Recurring series can move as a whole or one occurrence at a time, and keep the same meeting link.
- Appointments carry location of service, duration and service rate, so the schedule is where the note, the claim and the payroll line start.
- No-shows and late cancellations have their own codes and their own reporting.
Text reminders Coming soon. Email reminders work today.
Telehealth runs in Microsoft Teams.

Real product. Demo data.
Sessions happen in Teams, part of the Microsoft 365 that Therapist Genie® is built inside, in the same environment as the record. There is no separate video vendor and no export step between the session and the note.
- Telehealth appointments carry their Teams link, so there’s nothing to paste.
- Location of service, consent type and crisis-response information follow the session into the chart.
The client’s side of the practice.

Real product. Demo data.
Clients book, complete and sign paperwork, update their insurance, complete assessments and set how they want to be contacted.
- Someone on more than one chart sees one profile with a switcher, and outstanding paperwork across all their charts.
- Messages between client and clinician are threaded and stay in the record.
- Parent and guardian access to a minor’s chart is explicit, and it transfers to the client at eighteen.
Talk to everyone the practice serves.
Broadcasts to an audience, direct messages to one person, and templates for what you send again and again, with a visual editor and merge fields.
- Messages are categorized as operational, clinical or marketing, and preferences and unsubscribes are honored by category.
- A clinician composes; a supervisor, communications manager or administrator approves before anything leaves.
- Contacts who aren’t clients, including leads, live in their own list, so marketing never touches the clinical record.
More about communications
As of September 2026, no other therapy platform we have reviewed lets a practice talk to everyone it serves.
Your wish for a therapy resource? Granted.
Tell us how your practice runs today. We’ll walk through each part of it in Therapist Genie® with you and show which add-ons, if any, your practice needs.
AI is included, and we don’t charge for admin and support staff.
