1. SMS and Text Messaging Terms and Conditions
This section explains how Therapist Genie collects, uses, and protects mobile phone numbers and SMS/text messaging consent data.
1.1 Consent and Electronic Records
By opting in to or using a Therapist Genie Text Message Service, you consent to receive one or more messages addressed to your mobile phone number, including SMS, MMS, or successor messaging technologies. Your consent also authorizes the use of an electronic record to document your agreement. This Privacy Policy and the applicable Text Messaging Terms and Conditions govern the service.
When you provide your mobile phone number and consent to receive text messages, we may collect your mobile phone number, opt-in consent, consent language, date and time of consent, source or method of consent, messaging preferences, delivery records, opt-out records, and STOP, START, HELP, or other messaging responses
We use mobile phone numbers to send messages you have consented to receive, including transactional messages such as appointment reminders, confirmations, scheduling updates, care-related follow-ups, account or support messages, and operational updates
Transactional messages and promotional messages are treated as separate consent categories. Promotional text messages are sent only to individuals who have separately and explicitly opted in to marketing communications
Mobile phone numbers and SMS opt-in consent data will not be sold, rented, or shared with third parties or affiliates for their marketing purposes
We may share mobile phone numbers and SMS consent data with service providers or subcontractors, such as messaging platforms, telecommunications carriers, and messaging infrastructure providers, only as needed to operate and deliver our messaging program. These providers process mobile information on our behalf under confidentiality and security obligations and may not use it for their own marketing or commercial purposes.
You may opt out of a text-message conversation at any time by replying STOP, QUIT, END, REVOKE, OPT OUT, CANCEL, or UNSUBSCRIBE. Because the Text Message Service may involve person-to-person communications with Therapist Genie personnel, an opt-out request applies to the specific conversation and associated phone number. You may also update preferences available in your account or contact support@therapistgenie.com.
After you opt out, we may send one confirmation message. You will not receive further marketing text messages in that conversation unless you opt in again. Transactional or care-related messages may continue only where permitted by law, supported by separate consent, or required by the applicable provider or account relationship.
If you previously opted out, you may re-subscribe by texting START where supported or by completing a new opt-in process.
1.2 Message Costs and Frequency
Therapist Genie does not charge for messages sent or received through the Text Message Service. Message and data rates may apply under your wireless or other service plan. Message frequency varies based on your use of the service and actions that generate messages, such as sending a HELP request.
Therapist Genie’s SMS program is intended for individuals 18 years of age or older. By providing your mobile phone number and consenting to SMS communications, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old or have appropriate authorization.
We retain mobile phone numbers and related consent and opt-out records while the applicable account remains active and as needed for legal, regulatory, compliance, audit, security, and dispute-resolution purposes. You may request deletion by contacting support@therapistgenie.com, except where retention is required or permitted by law.
